A standard block of butter fits in our butter dish. The lid is robust and because the butter goes inside the pot, unlike the cloche style butter dish, it doesn’t tend to get all over the lid, which leaves a mess wherever the lid is set down. Practical and lovely! This one has that relaxed use of slip which gives a satisfying nod to old country pottery.
